Dragonfly is NOT your typical beach rental house. Designed for the discriminating guest, ,NOT FOR PARTYING but for relaxation, serenity, rejuvenation. and romance.
Located in the award winning and magazine featured Village of Tannin in Orange Beach, our newly constructed architectural cottage strikes the perfect balance of old world charm and modern convenience, with a decidedly French accent reminiscent of Provence.
Overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and our own private Lake, she is a rare combination of privacy and central location. The Gulf State Park is outside our door with 13 miles of bike trails, zip lines, Lake Shelby for swimming and kayaking, and the longest gulf fishing pier and golf. The beach is right across the street.
Our 2 bedroom(+ plush built in hall bunk beds), 2 and half bath, home sleeps six and is filled with charming features sure to delight even the weariest of wayfarers. Walk barefoot on the cool tile floors, let the warmth of the board and batten walls envelope you and sink into the plush, Swiss style beds. Watch the panoramic sunrise over the gulf from the upper veranda while lounging on the swinging bed while sipping a latte.
Downstairs, you’ll enjoy a cozy, light filled living room and a flat screen TV with DVD. The dining room comfortably seats six with room for 2 more at the breakfast bar. The gourmet kitchen features imperial granite counters, a hooded double oven, an espresso machine and a French door refrigerator with bottom freezer.
Off the kitchen is an over sized veranda with 2 ceiling fans, a table that seats 8 as well as a bench and Adirondack chairs. You’ll also enjoy the convenience of a powder room on the main floor, discreetly hidden behind a delightful stylized sliding barn door.
Venture upstairs to the two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The first suite has a beautiful iron King bed with a luxurious Swiss style linens. In the bathroom, you’ll find an over sized step in shower with a built in bench and a rainwater shower head. The second suite boasts a delightful canopy Queen bed with luxury linens and the bathroom also has a rainwater shower head.
Both suites have wall mounted flat screen TVs and ceiling fans and open to an over sized veranda with 2 ceiling fans, rocking chairs,chaise lounges and a hanging bed with panoramic views of the gulf, the lake and state park. Also upstairs, you’ll find a washer and dryer as well as a comfortable set of built in bunk beds with memory foam toppers. Sit on the front porch swing and watch the kids at the pool.
You’ll feel a world away at Dragonfly Cottage, but you’ll only be minutes from everything Orange Beach and the gulf coast have to offer. Hike or bicycle through the 6000 acre state park adjacent to the quaint Village of Tannin, or fish in Tannin’s stocked lakes, or zipline or kayak on Lake Shelby. You’re only a short drive from over 100 restaurants and just minutes from grocery shopping.
Tannin has deeded beach access just a short 4 minute stroll away, or there is a public access on the right of the Phoenix Condos which is even closer.. And our neighborhood Olympic sized pool is just steps away from our home.

Summary: Our family of 5 had the best time here! We have 3 kids 10 and under and it was a great set up for everyone. The cottage was the best stocked rental property I have ever stayed in. It felt very thoughtfully designed and set up. The location was super close to the pool but I would recommend a golf cart to get to the beach. It’s pretty far if you’re needing to carry things. Overall this was a great stay and I would highly recommend it!

Summary: Great communication with host. Very responsive and helpful . The beach cottage is exactly as pictured. Kitchen has everything you need. Only two minor complaints: In the description it says that beach chairs are available. They are, but you have to rent them . It would be nice for the community to provide better directions and signs for where the beach and crosswalk are located . You must cross a 4 lane busy road to get to the beach but again, it has a crosswalk to help with that

Summary: Beautiful home, love the covered porched, great location with quick access to the beach, beautifully decorated. We highly recommend and would love to stay here again. We found the bike trail the last night and loved the easy access from the back of the neighborhood.Wish the community pool was heated. Should be heated from March thru October in my opinion.

Summary: We were absolutely delighted with Dragonfly Cottage! The property was beautiful, clean, quiet, and well appointed with everything we could possibly need. Our trip was a romantic getaway during the "off season" so we knew the weather would be a bit chilly. Big fluffy blankets were easy to find in the upstairs dressers and wrap around ourselves as we enjoyed the night air on the back porch. We only stayed in the master bedroom and found the king bed very comfy. The other bedroom was beautiful and the sweet bunk beds looked ideal for our children (maybe next time). Loved the shower and master bath as well. There were plenty of towels and even separate wash cloths for makeup. The kitchen had all we needed for breakfast in the morning and cocktails at night. Location was convenient to restaurants, though we really never wanted to leave. We've been spoiled, now, and must come back for a longer visit. Thank you so much for a memorable stay!

Summary: My husband picked this house out as the place he wanted to spend his 50th birthday. It was perfect. The owner has everything for you. Our Boston Terrier came with us and the porches and fences in yard was perfect for him. He felt right at home which made our time even better. The neighborhood is great and it’s a perfect location! Prior to arrival I asked about a nearby bakery that could deliver a cake before we got there. Unfortunately that bakery was booked out but Publix always makes fantastic cakes. So the owner arranged for the Property Manager to pick up the cake and have it at the house when we arrived.That was so kind and I truly appreciate her and her team to help make this special for my husband. We definitely will be back! Thanks Jamie! You have a phenomenal home!

Summary: Super cute! Last cottage on street makes for a quiet stay. Loved the fully fenced yard and that it was subdivided so I didn’t have to worry about someone opening the front gate. There’s a back gate that leads right onto a walking trail through the sand dunes and connects to the state park trails. Close to grocery and restaurants. Great stay, highly recommend.
